Subtract the credit
$115.59 − $5.00 = $110.59.
Compare the total
The calculated $110.59 matches the printed $110.59 total.

Look for service charges, large-party charges, delivery fees, corkage, or another line added after the subtotal.

What if my receipt has no separate subtotal?
Add the item prices and use that amount as the subtotal. If a discount is already reflected in those prices, do not subtract it again.
Should I enter a suggested tip?
Only enter a tip that is already included in the printed total you are checking. A suggested amount that has not been added yet is not part of that total.
Does a matching total mean every charge is correct?
No. It means only that the amounts you entered add up to the printed total. It does not verify the description, policy, or legal treatment of any charge.
